Ruth Gwynn Shaw

Served as President of Central Piedmont Community College (1986 – 92). Was first woman to serve as the Chair of the United Way of Central Carolinas 1989 campaign, raising $16 million. Served as Chair of the United Way and of the Arts and Science Council Board of Directors and first woman to serve as President of Charlotte Rotary. Continues to serve on various boards, focusing on literacy and workforce issues. Currently is President of Duke Power. Woman of the Year 1991.
