Louise Smith Brennan

Elected member of the N.C. House of Representatives in 1974, achieving passage of bills that improved the quality of life for mentally retarded children, troubled youth, women and the elderly. Served as past President of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party, was a founder of the Charlotte Women’s Political Caucus, and a leader of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Women’s Club and the N.C. Democratic Women’s Club. Woman of the Year 1982.
