Ann Davis Thomas

Chair of the County Board of Social Services, first female Chair of the Social Planning Council of the United Way and Chair of United Way Board of Directors. President of the Junior League of Charlotte, helping to found Youth Homes and the Drug Education Center. Was the first woman appointed to the Civic Center Authority (1974 – 79). Served one term on the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners as Vice Chair. Woman of the Year 1977.
