Louise Cameron Watkins

Served as Dean of the School of Christian Mission and Women’s Society of the Methodist Church. While President of the N.C. Congress of Parents and Teachers in 1957, campaigned against the Pearsall Plan that would have allowed communities to close their schools in the event of desegregation. Woman of the Year 1957.
