Helen Hunter

Was active in state and local civic affairs, serving as the President of the N.C. Congress of Parents and Teachers (1947-49), the President of the N.C. Mental Hygiene Society (now the Mental Health Association) and as Chairman of the N.C. Mental Health Council. Served as the first female elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Woman of the Year 1958.
