Susan Peck Green

Served two terms as Mecklenburg County Commissioner where she focused on land use, transportation, and neighborhood advocacy. Initiated the first public appearance period at each board meeting, providing an opportunity for citizens to be heard. Pioneered child daycare certifications, workfare alternatives for parents and innovative recycling programs. First woman from Mecklenburg County to run for the U.S. Congress 1983. Woman of the Year 1984.
