Julia Watson Mauldin

Served as a member of the Charlotte – Mecklenburg Board of Education for eight years strongly advocating desegregated schools and equal education. President of the Cabarrus Girl Scout Council. Was one of the founders and served as the first Executive Director of Charlotte Habitat for Humanity, and as a missionary for the Peace Corps in Zaire, and later in Haiti. Woman of the Year 1973.
