Ruth Moss Easterling
Served as President of the National Federation of Business and Professional Women. Appointed to the Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women by Governor Sanford in 1964. Member of the NC House of Representatives from 1977 to 2000 where she worked to improve the quality of care for children and the elderly, and served as the first female Chair of the Appropriations Committee. Introduced the bill creating Smart Start. Women of the Year 1964.
