Sil Ganzó

Sil Ganzó is the founder of ourBRIDGE for KIDS. Under her leadership, ourBRIDGE grew into a nationally relevant model for afterschool programs and providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive resources to immigrant and refugee families. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization provided more than 141,000 meals and supported over 2,100 newcomer families through its Family Support program.

Ganzó is widely recognized for building community trust and turning it into action. In the fall of 2025, when federal agents were in Charlotte, she led a coordinated, citywide volunteer response that activated hundreds of residents and partners to deliver advocacy, food, transportation, medical support and essential resources to families across east Charlotte. Her work and influence extend beyond a single organization. She has built partnerships across nonprofit, government, healthcare and faith sectors. She led the launch of the Charlotte Is Home Center, North and South Carolina’s first-of-its-kind resource hub ensuring that immigrant and refugee families have access to critical services and opportunities in their first language, created with support from Mecklenburg County, Charlotte Community Health Clinic and the Office of Congresswoman Alma Adams.

A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina and immigrated to the U.S. in 2003, Ganzó’s impact is both deeply personal and broadly systemic. She is the first Latina to receive the Charlotte Woman of the Year award.
