Elizabeth Moon Conard Corkey, M.D.

Did missionary work in China before WWII delivering and taking care of babies. Served as Assistant Medical Director of the Charlotte – Mecklenburg Health Department (1960-68). An early advocate for birth control and well-baby clinics. A leading advocate for the mental retardation community. Woman of the Year 1960.
